This buckled wheel repair service is for you if:
It’s also a strong fit for trade customers who need safe, consistent repairs with clear communication.
A buckled wheel repair is not cosmetic. It’s a structural correction. We measure runout, locate the distortion, then use controlled heat and hydraulic straightening to restore roundness gradually.
If a wheel is too distorted, or cracks are present in risky areas, we’ll tell you honestly if replacement is the safer option.
We’re known for quality workmanship, clean presentation, and managing expectations so you know exactly what’s happening to your wheels.
How the service works:
We check for:
Tyre, valve, and sensors are removed as needed. The wheel is mounted on a straightening machine and the buckle is marked precisely.
The damaged area is heated to a controlled temperature to soften the aluminium slightly. This helps prevent cracking during correction.
Hydraulic pressure is applied in small increments. Runout is measured repeatedly throughout. This is a slow process on purpose, because rushing increases risk of cracking.
If minor cracks are found in suitable areas, we may be able to repair by welding, then reshape and smooth. Not all cracks are safe to repair, especially depending on location.
We re-check the wheel to confirm it runs true within safe tolerances and holds an air seal.
If the wheel needs cosmetic work after repair, we can refurbish it with powder coating or diamond cutting, depending on the wheel type.

DCA Refinishing is solely owner-run, and every wheel is assessed properly before repair work starts.
A buckled wheel has already been structurally damaged. During straightening, hidden weakness can sometimes show up as cracking. If that happens, additional repairs may be needed, or the wheel may be deemed unsafe to repair. We’ll always talk you through the options before any extra work.
Common signs include steering vibration at speed, a wobble you can see when the wheel spins, or a problem that starts after hitting a pothole or kerb.
No. Some wheels are too distorted or have damage in areas that make repair unsafe. We’ll inspect and advise honestly.
We use controlled heat and gradual correction to reduce risk. But the wheel is already damaged, which is why inspection and suitability checks matter.
Sometimes cracks only show once the wheel is being corrected. If a crack is repairable, we’ll explain the options and any extra cost. If it’s not safe, we’ll tell you.
We can, if needed. Powder coating or diamond cutting may follow depending on the wheel type and finish required.
